Caroline Olsen is a versatile violist who has just completed her first year of doctoral studies in performance with Prof. Marina Thibeault at the University of British Columbia. After graduating from McMaster University with Honours Bachelors in both Science and Music, Caroline launched a freelance career as a violist, violinist, vocalist, and educator. She has appeared in the viola sections of the Vancouver Island Symphony, Kamloops Symphony Orchestra, Symphony 21, Berlin Opera Group, Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra, Niagara Symphony Orchestra, and National Academy Orchestra of Canada, among others. During her Master’s at UBC, she developed a special interest in the Baroque viola as part of the Baroque Orchestra Mentorship Program in partnership with Early Music Vancouver.
