CVS Lifetime Achievement Award | SCA Prix pour l'ensemble des réalisations
At the 30th Anniversary Festival, held October 10–11, 2009 in Montréal, the CVS presented awards for the first time in its history. The award consists of a certificate, spoken tributes from colleagues and relatives, a listing on the CVS website Honour Roll and, for those who are still living, a silver pin. The award also provides honourary CVS membership for the recipient.
This award recognizes an outstanding contribution to the viola over many years as a player and/or a teacher, or for service to a viola organization such as the CVS. It is awarded to one person each year. However, since the CVS had not done awards before, more were awarded in the first and second years that it was given.
All CVS members in good standing are allowed to nominate Canadian violists for this award and will be emailed the nomination form. The deadline for applications is March 31 each year.
